Poldark is a unique setting for civil ceremonies and private events. Ceremonies can be arranged at any time of the year and are held underground in an area of the mine known as the Holman Chamber.

Up to twenty five guests can attend the underground ceremony.

The site is enclosed and contains all the facilities one would expect within a major heritage site. Serviced by two car parks the facilities include: Restaurant; Cafeteria which is also an Evening Function Room; Picnic and BBQ area; various craft workshops and shops; museum and outside exhibits; amusement arcade with pool and air hockey tables; Gem Sands; Gold Panning; Children’s Play Area and baby changing room.

All these facilities are available for groups holding receptions or parties on site.

A wide range of catering options are available for those wishing to hold their reception at Poldark. Poldark is particularly attractive in the evenings when groups have exclusive use of its facilities and gardens. During normal opening times the Restaurant is available for private events. For further information please contact Pamela Melville and arrange to visit the site where we can discuss the various options open to you and show you the facilities.

Private events can be held at any time of the year. When planning an event it should be borne in mind that, with the exception of the Restaurant, the site is open to the public during published opening times. Poldark can be very busy during July and August, Fridays and Saturdays being the quietest days.

If one party resides elsewhere in England or Wales a similar notice must be entered at the Register Office where they live. Once the notices are given a minimum of 15 clear days must elapse before a marriage can take place. Notices of marriage are valid for one year. It is advisable to give notice as soon as it is legally possible in order to secure a booking with the Registrar.
