Poldark Mine a Registered Site for Civil Ceremonies.

Poldark Mine is an unusual and unique venue for Civil Ceremonies which include: Weddings; Renewal of Vows and Naming Ceremonies.

There are two Registered Venues at Poldark, Underground within the Holman Chamber of this historic tin mine or on the surface within the covered area.

The site is enclosed and contains all the facilities one would expect within a major heritage site including: two car parks: Restaurant; Cafeteria, which is also an Evening Function Room; Picnic and BBQ area; Museum and outside exhibits; Children’s Play Area and Baby Changing room.

By far the largest number of ceremonies take place in the Holman Chamber of the mine which is candle lit for the ceremony increasing the atmosphere of this unique location.

In addition to the Bride and Groom up to 22 guests can be accommodate in the Chamber during the ceremony which can be relayed via a video link to additional guests on the surface.

Ceremonies can be held within the undercover area between the Mine Entrance and Café. For ceremonies this area is decorated and gives the opportunity of a larger number of guests to witness the ceremony.

The organisation of the ceremony at Poldark is undertaken by our own staff in consultation with you.

When ceremonies take place during normal opening times mine tours are halted within the area of the ceremony whilst it is taking place.

Contact should be made with the Registrar as soon as a provisional date for a ceremony is decided. The Registrar makes a charge, the level of which is dependant upon the day of the week on which the ceremony is held. Enquiries to the Registrar for Poldark should be made to 01326 562 848, opening hours Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1pm to 4.15pm.

Private events can be held at any time of the year.

A wide range of catering options are available for those wishing to hold an event at Poldark. The site is particularly attractive in the evenings when groups have exclusive use of its facilities and gardens.

The Restaurant is available for private events at all times, except Sundays until 5pm.

The Cafeteria is available in the evenings as a Function Room, also available are the Picnic and BBQ area.
